Albert Clerc's Poems

Shadows
By Albert Clerc

flickering sunlight,
passing shadows.
This is life,
days of joy and sorrow

shadows block the sun
but shadows have their place,
passing quickly
As quickly as our lives.

In the end
sunlight wins,
yet in the shadows
are precious moments.

They are our winters
when grace seems to lie dormant
yet as certain as they pass
There is eternal spring.

illuminating
and we come to understand
the meaning of shadows!
